Ms. Rebecca

Rebecca has a Bachelor’s in Communication Studies from Boston University and is pursuing a dual Masters degree in Childhood Education and Special Education from Monroe College. She is in her 6th year of teaching and has taught in various charter schools and is currently employed at the New York City Department of Education.

Rebecca has taught First, Second and Third grade Literacy, Phonics, and Math. She is passionate about working with elementary-aged children and has dedicated her career in refining her teaching practices to ensure every child receives a quality, holistic education that also empowers them to be independent thinkers Knowing each student has a differently learning style, Rebecca uses a hands on and engaging approach when teaching phonics and literacy, utilizing various tools. Taking time to build relationships with students and partnering with families is important in understanding the best ways to motivate them. It is important for Rebecca that each student develops a sense of curiosity and becomes independent thinkers as well as lifelong learners.
